Most premium headwear brands don't make anything. They design a cap, hand the spec to a factory, then sell the finished product through a chain of wholesalers, distributors, and retail markup - each one adding a margin before the cap reaches you. By the time you're paying real money for a cap, a large share of that price has nothing to do with the cap itself.
We work differently, because CacheMio is connected to the people who actually make the caps.
What This Actually Means
CacheMio works directly with C&M-Style, the Kyiv-based manufacturer that cuts, sews, and finishes every cap by hand. There's no separate factory relationship to manage, no wholesale markup layered on top of production cost, and no incentive to cut a corner you'd never see in order to protect someone else's margin.
That doesn't mean the caps are cheap to make. Italian flax, a Lithuanian mill running since 1957, hand-cut leather straps, and a blind seam that takes about three times longer to sew than a standard one - all of that costs real money. What it means is that the price you pay reflects what the cap actually costs to make well, not what the market will bear once several intermediaries have taken their cut.
Why This Beats "Affordable Luxury"
A lot of brands solve the price problem by lowering quality instead of cutting the distance between factory and customer - thinner fabric, machine stitching where a blind seam should be, glued construction instead of sewn. The cap looks similar in a product photo. It doesn't hold up the same way after a season of wear.
Direct-to-consumer only works as an honesty play if the savings actually reach the product. Ours do.
The Trade-Off, Honestly
Going direct means we can't offer the same in-person try-before-you-buy experience as a department store counter, and we don't have a chain of boutiques to walk into. What you get instead is a lower price for the same - or better - construction, and a company that can actually answer a question about how the cap was made, because we're the ones who made it.
No markup for a name. Just the cap, priced at what it costs to make it right.
